An Arsonist of the Heart

To me, you will always be an orange slip basking in a lazy haze

Corduroy crimson folds enrapture such flickering hips

between candle-tipped lips, and your fingers

like wax, wane gently between mine.

To me, you will always be the explosive

clementine gradient which chases the setting sun

the softly breathing charcoal chest

where I once rested my chin.

But to anyone else,

They see your ashen footprints

and name you a criminal.
